It's day one on my actual job here in Diego Garcia so I didn't have much time for my new favorite hobby: filming and encoding video for this site. But there isn't a need for much time, because tropical paradise is everywhere you look here, and it doesn't take long to get there..
It was exceptionally humid (for me) today, and it took about five minutes for the fog to clear off of my camera after I took it with me out of the relatively icy and air conditioned confines of my barracks room. When I was ready to film, there were tennis courts, crabs and some loud waves -- considerably more loud than they would've been had I lowered the levels on my microphone. My bad. Look for some good wave sounds this weekend with the coming of low tide.
Cannon Point was a little bit lacking in lustre, as I was surprised to discover the Royal Police Atack Dog Cemetary nearby. All three of the dogs died in 2002, according to the markers.
