DJ Keltech
DJ Keltech
In today's music landscape, few drum n' bass producers are truly original in their approach to new beats. And few, if any, give due attention to the techniques and styles that gave rise to the niche D&B genre. In walks Welsh producer and turntablist DJ Keltech with enough creativity and live performance chops to shake things up at the top.

Photoshop MC
Deke McClelland
I've learned a lot about Photoshop over the past ten years or so. Most of has been in fits and starts or in eureka moments while trying to get projects done at work. But I've rarely had the desire to sit down and actually do some Photoshop training, fundamental or otherwise. That attitude changed when I wanted to get ACE certified in 2004: I knew I needed to start learning from the ground up. Deke's videos helped.

Walt Baby Love Promo

BAGHDAD -- Here's a little pub I did promoting a radio shout out campaign for the syndicated shows 'The Countdown' and 'Gospel Traxx,' hosted by Walt Baby Love. I had one low resolution image of Rev. Love to work with, and absolutely no video. So, that meant. . . cheesytime!!! And that is fine with me.
The background: all I did was make some stripes in Photoshop, do a polar coordinates effect, and place it over an old paper texture in an After Effects composition -- smacking on a overlay layer blend property. Then it's time to rotate the stripes in the AE comp.

The Rev: I made his little flying heart in illustrator and fused his image with it in another AE comp, along with the descriptive chevrons (which I made in Photoshop using the path text capabilities).
The other stuff: It's called Google Images, and it works well when you're trying to find an old school radio mic, and something that looks like a typical office phone.
The early '80s production music and the bleeding red text: When it's cheesytime it's cheesytime. And I even skimped on the cheese here with the music, the 'never-ever use ever' bleeding red text and the spinning stripes to give it a lo-fi, 1981, rough around the edges look, literally.
